problem:
no one is awake at 2 in the morning to talk to. well, at least no one is awake today at 2 in the morning. this is a problem. i would prefer if my friends would get together and decide between each other which one would stay up which night and entertain me. obviously they didn't think of this for themselves. they never think about me. they only think about themselves. greedy, self-centered bastards. i wish for once they would think about my needs first.
shit, that is funnier then i thought it would be. from my perspective at least. and i will remind you, my perspective rocks. so, funk all you square mofos.

touched.. you say that i am too
so much of what you say is true
i'll never find someone quite like you again
the razors and the dying roses
plead i don't leave you alone
the demi-gods and hungry ghosts
oh god, god knows i'm not at home
i.. i looked into your eyes and saw
a world that does not exist
i looked into your eyes and saw
a world i wish i was in
i'll never find someone quite as touched as you
i'll never love someone quite the way
that i loved you

ok, so yeah i am a little annoyed. i have heard for a long time that 'a brave new world' is a good book, but i have found it unpleasant. huxley is thoroughly unoriginal and disgustingly acute. he names characters along the lines of Marx and Lenina. when an author has to bludgeon the reader with something like that i find it offensive.
in other news, go france! i love how they refused to allow sharon to visit.
people like to stereotype. finding 'norms' or commonality among groups helps humans to understand the world around them. sadly this dulls us and causes prejudice, and that in turn causes problems in understanding. the new anti-semitism that is springing up in places like france is driven by the actions of israel, which has long been considered the stereotype for jews. unfortunately, israel's actions are reflecting negatively on the rest of the jews worldwide. of course, there are those that would propose that israel is defending itself against terrorism. though i doubt they would be brash enough to say that hiring lebonese soldiers to shoot palestinian children from watchtowers is an act of national security. in our world, the new david is a poor young boy with a stone, and goliath has become a rumbling tank. perhaps this revision of myth is not beneficial.

sooooooooo
"now i'm free, now i'm free"
with the coming election, there is time for reflection. i honestly wouldn't say kerry is the best guy for the job, but i have supported him since he announced his run at the presidency, back when dean was in the lead. while i might not support kerry and everything he says, and i definately think he is weak on several key points the democrats should be pushing, he is still better than bush.
put aside the issue of the current war. look into bush as a leader. worst economic downturn in history. oh yeah, that was prior to 9/11. so you can't blame a terrorist attack for the ills of the nation lead by a lame duck. he also votes along religious lines. it is fine if you have convictions in your personal life, but that does not give you the right to dictate the lives of others according to your faith. freedom of religion. freedom to keep your religion out of other peoples business.
on another note, organized religion is mainly a crutch for the masses of weakminded people. bite me funboy.

Looking out my window staring
At the things that I can't see
If I listen closely,
I can hear a dying dream
I'm wrapped up in the warmth
Of an unforgiving mind
I'm on vacation in another time
And we can thank the TV
We can thank the men of old
For this legacy of hate
Somehow they have sold
I'm wrapped up in the the warmth
Of an unforgiving game
I'm on vacation in the land of shame
When the pigs are flying
And it's freezing cold in hell
Maybe we'll forgive the children, baby
Only time can tell....yeah, yeah
If I listen closely
I can hear a dying dream
I'm on vacation in the land of shame
We'll be alone together
In a world we call our own
We'll be alone together
In a place that doesn't feel like home
I can hear a dying...
We'll be alone together
We'll leave this land of shame

Interesting
I just had a wonderful discussion about the ethics of theft. I dunno, talking about that stuff is fun. It is my own, neo-socialist view, that supports theft from artificial manifestations of power. Faceless companies that exploit everything from the worker, to the author.
Here is something that came up: Situational Ethics. I have come to believe that all my ethics are situational. I do not support murder in general, but if someone I loved was raped I would kill the rapist without second thought. It depends on the situation. Not a single thing that comes to mind can be applied universally. There is always a gray area. It would be simple if there were black and white, but that is not how it is.
I said neo. Damnit...that is just as bad as proactive.
