finally coming to the end of the travel season for me. puerto rico and then to vancouver and then i am done til january. it has been a long couple months. i have enjoyed every moment of it though, no matter what i have said. the travel will be missed, but staying static for a little while might be healthy for me.
kafka on the shore by haruki murakami has been keeping me company. i flew through a bunch of books during my last trip, but i had picked this one up in toronto on a lark. i had remembered marc saying that i should read some this author's work. he thought i would enjoy it. i do enjoy it. i'm forced to admit marc was right, at least this time.

searching for new flavors, new thrills, new anything i've gone back to listening to pandora. can't complain. found the seatbelts and yoko kanno. enjoyed some king crimson. listened to home video and elliott smith. they even had some explosions in the sky to listen to when words were too much to deal with.

hours roll out flat upon the surface of the day, laying in wait for me to tread past. thick and overly supple they hold any footfall longer than normal. there is nothing that can be done to escape this without losing oneself to the confines of the unknown. thus plodding steadily forward i find an untrodden path and proceed with little thought or caution.

there are many things that disgust me. however, at the moment i am most disgusted by fake tans, or people that are overly tan. it just doesn't seem right. i suppose i should care less about the physical appearance of other people. then again, i do believe that looking like some type of unnatural fool deserves some derision.

back to canada friends
i shall remain there for august
send money,
lawyers,
and perhaps guns.

if you missed the reference then you're a fool. or you have bad taste in music. or you are very, very short. all of those are possible.
