War Is a Force That Gives Us Meaning
by Chris Hedges
This is my book of the moment. Originally, I picked it up merely as a curiousity. It has become much more. For a journalist, he does a wonderful job of breaking down centuries of philosophic thought of war into small chunks. It is something that can easily be read without stopping for understanding. (Oh Kant how I loathe you.)
Good quotes from the book thus far:
"War is exposed for what it is-organized murder."
"The potency of myth is that it allows us to make sense of mayhem and violent death."
On An Unrelated Note:
You are a coward. (You know who you are.)
