well puerto rico is done, and i cannot say that i did not enjoy the experience. it was much nicer than i thought it would be. the heat did bother me, but after a couple medallas there is no need to worry about it. i wouldn't mind learning a little more spanish though...it would come in handy.

off to vancouver on thursday, which is the last of these trips for now. travel starts up again in january from what i can tell. there will be a new adviser though, now that dana has left. it might be hard to adjust, but i hope it isn't.

i'm finally getting through the last of kafka on the shore. that book is a real trip. it is like being on drugs, sans spending a lot of money for the feeling. i'm not sure that i would want to write in that fashion, but it is interesting to see how another author does it. plus the ending has me guessing. i have a couple ideas, but nothing i would bet on right now.

firewater has a new album coming out soon. i've got a couple of the tracks that i bought. pretty good stuff. crazy and brilliant in its own fashion. i hope they tour again, it would be nice to finally see them live. i find myself constantly loving bands that no longer exist, which stinks because there is a longing to see them perform live but never a chance.
